Both versions of the 18-200 have VRII...

That's not correct - both the first version, and the "II" version of the 18-200 have "VRII".

The original version:
AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED
"Enhanced Vibration Reduction (VRII) offers the equivalent of using a shutter
speed 4 stops faster"


The "II" version:
AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR II
"Built-in Vibration Reduction (VR II)"
