Well, fine-tuning is adjusting for alignment of both the lens and camera body as a combination - that's why they need to be done on each lens with each body. It takes care of both...

With lens fine tune, you're telling the camera to compensate for any lens misalignment, not the other way around. Not all lenses come out of the box perfectly able to shoot sharp images. Some need to be compensated and fine tune is the tool to do it without sending it back to the manufacturer.
