D800 auto focus technique help

Focus priority

Focus priority (A1 or A2) should prevent tripping the shutter unless the image is ain focus at the focus point selected. The grren circle in th ebottom left part of the viewfinder lights when focus is acheived. If your camerea is firing in either AF-S or AF-C mode with focus priority set, you have a problem.

My D4 did that and Nikon techs agreed this is not the intended operation. It is at Nikon Melville for repair now. Others have had the same problem (see D4 focus priority threads).
