D4 monitor protection
May 4, 2012

Got my D4 two days ago (from Amazon), and it’s an awesome machine.

But I was a little startled to find that there was no monitor cover. This is my first Nikon pro-level camera; my last camera was a D700. I’m sure real pros (of which I'm not one) must have good reasons for not wanting a cover, but the monitor seems awfully vulnerable to serious damage, even just strapped around your neck or on your shoulder.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Are there third parties that make such covers? Are any of the film-type protectors that I see advertised (e.g. Martin Fields or Lexerd) any good? And if so, are they safe, i.e. can they be put on and then later removed without any damage to the monitor?

Thanks in advance for any help.
