Tewe viewfinder on Panasonic G1?

I want to buy an external optical viewfinder (Tewe 35-200mm). Its foot is made of metal. There are four contacts (one large contact, three small contacts) in the hotshoe of the G1.

I do not know, if the metal foot can touch and short-circuit the contacts. I hope it cannot, because the contacts are a bit deep-seated.

But if a short-circuit happened, would it damage the camera?
