Back in 2005 when I switched to Canon crop cameras (350 XT Rebel) I had only two lenses: The 10-22 Canon and the 60 macro. Although I have since gotten into FF, I still use those two lenses on crop the most for making money. The 60 is a really fine lens. Make sure you get and use the official hood for it. I have used the older Mk I 50 f1.8 on film bodies years ago and it was okay, but not great in any way.
