Baby delivery videos are probably unappealing and personally invasive. My wife insisted that I do not take video of the delivery. As a Dad, I recommend that you do not take a peek of the baby "crowning." That can never be "unseen." and will negatively affect all sexual experiences from that day forward.

My wife, myself and everyone in our extended families did enjoy that post-birth bonding videos and particularly those in the nursery that no one except for the father would have been able to witness.

I might rent a 24-70 or 17-55 and put on my wife's Canon T2i (it takes videos).

Buy a dedicated camcorder and learn to use it well before the event. All DSLRs take sucky video unless they are on a tripod.
