I guess I can see that. However, I find that local retailers tend to be more expensive and have a less liberal return policy, even for products that are defective.

I guess I'd rather pay less, pay no tax, save the hassle of driving to a store (I live in L.A.!!) and have the peace-of-mind that if I want to return the product - for whatever reason - that I can. Because that's the policy at Amazon.com.

I am a big Amazon customer too. I have spent thousands on photographic paper, several hundred DVD's, camera accessories, books, CD's etc with only a few returns for damaged goods. For my untried expensive purchases like new printers, lenses and cameras I go straight to a reputable retailer and try out what I am interested in even though I pay a little more
