I can hardly blame you for hopping off the merry go round. Those of who have taken the time to master the D7000 (I definitely include Magnum) have made some great pics with it. However, I find the D800e to be a very compelling upgrade indeed. The D800 features better high ISO, far better autofocus, the ability to be the best DX camera as well as the best FX. Color to die for, resolution and cropping ability for days. My little 50D will be ungodly sharp on it. I don't buy the pro glass only thing. The Polish website cityscape taken at f7 with the humble 70-300VR shows an unearthly amount of beautifully presented detail, thoroughly debunking the need for multi thousand dollar lenses on this cam. As for printing huge, probably never, but I can see a ten or fifteen percent improvement in detail on my big LED, so I'm going for it. Pentax 645 detail for a relative song. I'm on the wait list.
