To take full advantage of the 24-70

To take full advantage of the D800 24-70 IQ one has to use higher shutter speeds and/or use a tripod. So if most of my shooting involved the use of a tripod, I would go with the 24-70. IF your intent is a walk around lens-- I think the 24-120VR would be my lens of choice. I find that to really get the sharpest images without a tripod you gain more with VR than you do with f2.8 vs f4.
