Tamron 17-50mm or Tamron 28-75mm?
May 2, 2012

I want to make a lens upgrade for the 18-55 kit lens of my Sony A57. So, I will buy either the Tamron AF 17-50mm f/2.8 SP XR Di II LD Aspherical [IF] ( http://www.photozone.de/...a-aps-c-lens-tests/386-tamron_1750_28_sony?start=1 ), either the Tamron AF 28-75mm f/2.8 SP XR Di LD Aspherical [IF] ( http://www.photozone.de/...spherical-if-nikon-lab-test-report--review?start=1 )

And as I can't decide which one is the best, please advise me which one to buy. It seems that the 28-75mm lens is better at distortions, vignetting and CA, while the 17-50mm is better only at resolution, being sharper, especially at f2.8

Any experiences with these two lenses? Which one should I buy? Are they better than the 18-55 Sony kit lens, beside the f2.8 stop which is a plus? Thanks.

Sony SLT-A57
