For me those are the 3 biggest pains in the camera:

  • lousy AEB of 0.7 EV

  • Difficult cannot do this because of that situations

  • Inability to store camera states

Especially the last one makes me lose shots. Here I am trying out my NG filters to blur water movement during sunset. Suddenly a nice boat comes up the river. I remove the NG filters (Cokin, so fast) but then the nightmare starts. What the heck should I revert?

OSS was off, becaus I was on a tripod, but now it should be on!
Focus was on manual, but now I need fast autofocus!

AWB was distorted, because I wanted to exaggerate the sunset, but not with this shot!
Need to switch to A mode from M mode...

How much of a better camera would the NEX be, if I could dial in a custom scene that does this for me!?

  • Panoramic mode

  • Timelapse / long exposure

  • HDR Mode

  • Night shot

  • against the sun shot

  • Indoor shot with built in flash

  • Same with off camera flash

  • action shot

I could easily fill 10 of those pre-sets!!!

Btw: Call Sony or write them on their support web site and tell them what is missing.

Missing it in Development is stupid, not giving feedback is a missed chance as well.
