This may well be true, but I have never seen this before and it was immediately apparent to me in the close up shot of the man in the hat.
Who wants to waste time photo-shopping that out? Seriously. If this can't be fixed this is show shopper.
It is a bummer because I really wanted a VC Zoom lens in this range and apeture.
