Hi Justin,

I have the Sony VCL-HDG1758 1.7X front mount teleconverter and in most cases it also sucks. Center is sharp but the edges are terrible. It was fun to play with for awhile but not worth buying and trying. I only tried it because I already had it (I bought it for my brother to use on his Sony F707).
