Your experience with the 9-18 f4.0-5.6 M.Suiko?

What is your opinion in regard to the 9-18 mm lens and still photos? The lens is currently reduced to $600 at olympusamerica.com. I am still trying to decide which lenses to purchase (either OLY or PAN).

I have seen many samples posted from prime lenses and 2rd party lenses, but don't recall seeing any sample photos made with the 9-12.
