Go for the 70-200 f2.8 L IS II USM lens. This lens has great optics and has the latest generation IS. Great for still photos as well as for videos. It works well with the 1.4x as well as the 2x TCs. You can check my review: http://www.indiawilds.com/diary/canon-70-200-f2-8-l-is-ii-usm-review/

Incidentally, canon has put it in their canon edge site in india.

The images from this lens is sharp. You can see the difference. I was filming from a boat using 24-70 f2.8 L USM lens at 70mm. Then changed to 24-105 F4 L IS USM and then shifted to 70-200 f2.8 L IS II USM. The 70-200 threw the sharpest, minimal distortions. With a 2xII tc, this looked better than the 100-400.
