+1 .. Even though im more inclined to use color for flowers, birds, bugs ..

I don't know about you.... but I think and see differently when I am shooting B & W....... there is a different aura about the view of the subject and there are many times I have been out on a walk and just "see" a subject and know that it is just made to create a good B & W photo....it sets up by contrast and composition in my minds eye even tho i am viewing it in actual color. I guess it is a reversion back to the old "left side of the brain vs. the right side" argument.... but whatever it is, I always got a real thrill when the image began to emerge from the trays and it appeared as i saw it in my mind.....Make any sense?
