My plasma TV

This is an open forum, so I bet I can ask a question about my Plasma tv. 50 inch,5 years old , has been running without a hitch. But 3 days ago, suddently without warning, it turned itself off. From 100% to nothing. That is how plasma tv goes under? from being perfect to nothing? any one has this experience?
