that article tried to measure the value of this and did not find it. I'll surmise that when you're not interacting, that a slew of .1ms versus 10ms actions don't factor to very much. But every time you're waiting for a response to a click, you're dying a little. 1/10th of a second there means a lot more than 30 x .1s in a batch job.
