The ORB revisited

A well written and thoughtful post and certainly food for thought. In my many years of professional photography and my academic art sudies I have seen many brilliant images made by artists using pin-hole cameras, Dianna cameras, ($2.00 at the toy shop) and all sorts of improvised cameras using all kinds of improvised lenses. Artifacts, scratched film, dust and dirt and orbs and blown highlights and deliberate reticulation and old out of date film....all used to good taste to produce stunning works of art that hangs in some of the worlds best art houses. I have often heard it said that the pinhole camera is the only 'pure' form of photography becasue there are optics to distort reality. I agree with the premise of your post.
