there was none from anyone with sense. some people want a 7D for half the price, they didnt get.

Now that it's history, sure, its an ok cam, but not the mini/lightwt. version of a 7D that many of us wanted.

how do you define "lightweight version of 7D"? if that means same as 7D but lighter because it uses titanium and still cost a whole lot less then you are dreaming.

as it is 60D is already very close to 7D, it has the same sensor, same metering, same manual, same video, lesser AF, drive rate, buffer but better screen and other miscellaneous features.

Tis when I got the D7K instead. Lighter ( a bit), cheaper..and some other valuable features are better.

but D7000 is both heavier and more expensive than 60D. so one can argue if "lightweight and cheaper" 7D is what customer wanted, D7000 didnt go far enough so it was too expensive.
