Thoughts on DR

Below are some of my thoughts regarding DR and why many of us Sigma users feel the DR is better than the numbers would seem to indicate.
First, the JPEG files are what they are from a DR measurement standpoint. No arguments there.
Where things get interesting is with the RAW files in SPP.
Many times, in SPP, I have been able to pull lots of image detail out of what appears to be blown out or under exposed areas. To me, this is what gives the impression of greater dynamic range. Using the Exposure and fill light sliders, you have a tremendous amount of control of the DR in a scene.
Here is an example of one where I was able to get the details out of an image.
