Companies like Nikon often use currency hedging to protect themselves against short-term variations in exchange rates (so they don't have to change prices often), but longer-term changes have to affect pricing. If your currency drops a lot against the yen and stays low, you better expect the price you pay for Japanese products to rise. Sadly, if your currency rises, don't count on the price dropping
