The UK list-price of the D800 without V.A.T is GBP 2.166,66
1 GBP = 1.62 USD......... 2.166,66 x 1.62 = $3.509,98

The German list-price of the D800 without MwSt is € 2.352,10
1 € = 1.32 USD............. 2.352,10 x 1.32 = $3.104,77

You certainly can.. What I could not understand why would the UK distributors apply a different pricing to their cameras or the UK customs charge something extra as the other EU customs for the same goods? Since there is no customs duty amongst the EU countries, do they not realize that the UK customers would order their Nikons to German sites rather then the British ones, for example? Shipment charges are low... Something weird, don't you think? I used to come cross with similar discrepancies before the D800/E case too..
