Why does my AF fail in contre-jour shots?

-Single-point AF

• Dynamic area AF

• Auto area AF ?

I Open your picture in Capture NX and the focus point used by the camera isn't available neither is the Af-Area mode.

If you use Auto area AF, I could understand why the camera misses a lot, because the background is much brighter thant the subject.

Have you tried Single-point AF ?
