Having just received my E-M5 yesterday, my ears are absolutely IN LOVE with the shutter button sound. My husband and I have owned too many cameras to count (including Canon Rebels, Canon 5D, Canon 5DMII, Nikon D3, Sony A900, E-1, all the Pens, Olympus E-3, E-30, and E-5, Pentax K-x, and Fuji X100, among others) and we both agree the shutter sound (or lack thereof) is fantastically quiet -- a very damped, soft "chunk" sound. The E-1 is renowned for its quiet shutter, and I feel the E-M5 shutter is at least as pleasant to my ears, if not more so.

It almost makes me wonder if there is something wrong with your unit (I would never describe the noise as a "clack" sound). I'm also wondering what other cameras you've shot recently, other than the X10, for comparison.

Just my two cents so potential buyers of the E-M5 don't get worried all of a sudden about the shutter sound!
