I thought that the problem was the metal/metal contact with the Fuji defice made of a too soft metal

Replacing one metal by another, is it a good way in terms of duration for the camera's device ?

The lugs on the camera are bronze. Apparently that's quite soft. Softer than the split-rings Fuji provided.

By using bronze split-rings, you'll reduce the wear by 50%. True, not by 100%, but 50% is a pretty good number.

The 50% reduction of wear will shift to something you can replace, easily, the split-rings.

It's a good idea, I'd say, even if it isn't an entirely perfect solution.
