Compact FF in the car, permanently

Compact is also a point. The NR suggests the camera won't have a focus motor, one of the reasons Nikon omits it (apart from cost) is to save space on the compact models - it makes a significant difference. I wonder if the D7000 format would take a FF mirror and prism if the focus motor was omitted. The loss of the focus motor really isn't a problem for anyone except those with legacy Nikon glass.

dual card slots, higher framerate (with extra dampening and cooling mechanisms) also take space. Regarding prism/mirrors I'm not convinced. Olympus OM-1/2 had excellent full frame viewfinders despite a very compact body; I don't see why a FF DSLR should be much bigger than that.
