After thinking long and hard I decided to trade my Sigma 30/1.4 for the SAM 35.

the 2 main reasons:

1. while the Sigma is pretty sharp even wide open to f2 already, its AF is crap. very unreliable. SAM gives much more consistant results

2. once again while the Sigma is sharp, it has a non-flat focus field but instead a curvy one. example: facing a wall, if the center of your image is sharp the corners will not be, because they will be out of focus. this means that recomposing is virtually useless (at large apertures).
