What are you talking about? Why does it matter that EF-S lenses don't fit a full frame body?

Because people upgrading to FF from crop bodies would rather not get rid of their EF-S lenses right away.

Nikon was smart enough to not only allow you to mount any lens to any body, but a Nikon FF body will automatically crop the image when one of their crop lenses is mounted to a FF body. Now I'll admit that maybe this isn't the optimum scenario to begin with, but its an option that many people would prefer to have, as opposed to not have.

Canon seems particularly bad at lens roadmap planning, as evidenced by the demise of FD lenses when the EF mount became the only mount going forward in that era. Now they've done the same thing again with EF-S, but to a lesser extent. For some reason Nikon seemed to avoid doing this altogether over the last 50 years or so, while Canon has done it twice.

And oddly enough, you can buy 3rd party crop lenses that will mount to Canon FF bodies, while Canon's own crop lenses will not, go figure.

How many millions EF lenses did they sold since they lauched it? 70 or something?

Sorry but from their point of view, I'm sure they are pretty happy with their roadmap planning.
