I can't remember which C. Fn, but you can program it to directly change the current AF point. Pushing it down will toggle between the center and the last outer point. Works great when you reduce the total AF points to 9. I do notice that the metering timer needs to be on before it will work, so there are often an additional tap on the shutter button, which is much larger and easier to find, to get it working.
