If your Manfrotto QR plate has 1/4" thread, you will want to get a 1/4" to 3/8" bushing (or get a Manfrotto plate with 3/8" thread).

If that's your only head, I'd suggest one of the many lighter, smoother, stronger heads from other manufacturers like Markins, Kirk, etc. That Manfrotto head has a pretty small ball and it's marginal for supporting a D800 and heavy lens.
