Canon Pixma Pro9000 mkII vs. Epson Artisan 1430

I'm in need of a new printer, as my trusty Epson R1800 is starting to wear out. I'm on a bit of a budget and don't really need a pigment printer, so I was looking at these two dye-based models. I've heard a ton of good things about the Pro9000 mkII, but it's a three-year old printer, and I'm always wary about ink obsolescence when buying old printers. The 1430 is newer, of course, and has some nice features like wireless networking. It would cost a bit more ($220 from Epson, whereas I can get the Pro9000 for ~$150 via Craigslist). I've always used Epsons, though, so I'd be on more familiar ground.
If there's anyone out there that has used both, how do they compare on image quality? Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.
