Photoshop CS6 resizing/resampling
Apr 25, 2012

Hi there. apologies if this has been discussed before but a relatively thorough search of the forum has not found any direct reference to this which surprises me.

I have been using all the photoshops for years so I was happy when i had the new cs6 installed on my new macbook pro.

The first image i resized down, shocked me though. as the image quality looked massive degraded..everything looked overly sharp and awful, levels looked out..blacks were punchy..contrast yuck. in short, photoshop had destroyed my precious image!

i found that changing from bicubic automatic to 'bicubic- for smoother gradients' helped... but am left wondering how adobe could be so careless as to have such a profound issue in the simplest thing as resizing an image?

im wondering if there is anyway to change the default setting for resizing so i don't have to change it every time...anyone else had this problem or found an easy solution?

james.
