Fortunately, you don't have to take the word of what "many people say." You can look up the Fujifilm USA warranty for the X100 online. The terms state very clearly that it is non-transferable. As in, "This warranty is non-transferable."

Of course, that doesn't mean that Fuji will absolutely refuse to do warranty repairs for a second owner. In fact, a second owner posted a copy of his warranty repair receipt for a new lens assembly elsewhere in this thread. But it does mean that Fuji CAN refuse to service the camera under warranty, should they choose to do so, and there's nothing you can do about it.
