I seem to recall a couple of forum posts that said that non-Samsung flashes worked well with the NX10 until its firmware was upgraded. I don't have an NX10 or NX11 but my NX100 works with any Samsung flash and it has never recognized my SB-800, SB-400 or Nikon's old SB-24.

I recently upgraded my NX100 firmware. I will have to check to make sure the SB700 works with it. I really hope that didn't screw anything up.

Not sure what you mean by "recognized my SB-800", but the camera never "knows" it has a flash attached and the "no flash available" icon is always on the screen even though a generic hot shoe flash will fire. You have to put the Nikon flashes in on and manual mode (as opposed to master/slave and TTL), use one of the PSAM modes on the camera, shutter speed 1/200 or slower, and it should fire those nikon flashes fine.
