Nikon AF 24mm F2.8 non-D versus D. Have you used both?

Yes...I have noticed with the Tokina 12-24mm F4 I have...unless you are doing some extreme close-ups....you are not going to get much subject isolation. The DOF of the wide angles is certainly both a pro and a con. Generally, how I use the wide angle lenses this works out for me. For the 24mm prime though...I was hoping for a bit better subject isolation as I was want to use this indoors for some candid shots in social gathers. Here I have the AF-S DX 35mm F1.8 and AF 50mm F1.4D that both work well, but they are bit long at times.

Looking at some of your other tests...I can see the advantage of the 24-70mm. But alas, I have kind of had my heart set on a nice little prime and I really like 24mm on a DX body.

Actually the 24mm is not horrible lens at all...it is just not as good as some of these others.
