My gear is a GF1+20mm+polarizer+cleaning cloth+gorilla pod+spare battery (+45/f1.8 Oly at a stretch). Of course this means I cannot get the bird in the sky or the mountain a few miles away, in such cases I have to shrug my shoulder and move on. However the lightweight gear and one prime lens is a kind of a zen feeling and it fits nicely in my lightweight NF terra 35 backpack.
Of course this could have been a lot better with a canon but then I probably wouldn't have got there...
