GH2 Variable Aspect Ratio

I have a GH2 with the 14 x 42 kit lens. When I change the Aspect ratio I see a difference in the width of the photo. Other cameras simply crop the field of view for different ratios, but the GH2 has a wider field of view with the 16-9 ratio > 3-2 ratio > 4-3 ratio. So is the lens 14mm (28 equiv) at 16-9 or its native 4-3?
