Few of the lenses I use are smaller, it's not the body that makes much difference, it's the lens size which matches the sensor size.

Yep, I'd like to see full up DSLRs that were the size of the MF SLRs, with lenses to match. But I'm not holding my breath until they get here

Often for handholding lighter cameras are more of a problem to steady, weight and balance has value there.

I do own a bridge camera for the few times when it's absolutely essential to keep weight and bulk down, even though that compromises the photography some. Like bike touring.

I do consider FF cameras to be too bulky and adding a vertical grip way excess. Luckily my shooting fits APS well.
