Re: Question about adapters

If the other lenses needed an adapter for the Canon, you will have to use that plus the Canon to NEX adapter. This will work, but the extra adapter is really acting as a small extension tube and you may not get infinity focus and the distance scale will be inaccurate.

Hi. This is probably a stupid question, but here it goes anyway....

I have several old legacy lenses that I used with my old Canon AE-1 Program film camera (circa 1984). One of them is the kit Canon 50mm, the others are other various brands. I know I can get an adapter for the Canon FD lense to use on my NEX 5N. But my question is, would that adapter work for the other lenses as well? IOW, if a lens was used on the old Canon camera, does that automatically mean it would work with the adapter on the NEX??? Does the adapter work with all lenses for a given camera? Or are adapters specific to a lens? I hope this makes sense. TIA
