Leo, you're correct, SSD's do have a finite number of writes. However, I'm not sure that using an SSD for a Photoshop scratch disk is necessarily any worse than having Windows on an SSD. Windows frequently writes a number of files, updating them. I don't know that anyone has a definitive answer on this, but I wouldn't be overly concerned with it. In all likelihood, by the time the SSD "wears out", it will be obsolete and the replacements will be larger, faster, and cheaper.
