Xpro-1 Best - Resources - Tips - Tricks - Put Em Here

My regard for this great camera has been significantly amplified by Peteri Sulonen's Blog:

I got the camera as my assumptions for how I planned to use it were pretty much congruent with what Peteri elucidates. His philosophical perspective is akin to my own based on my past experiences with rangefinder style cameras.

1. For me the Best single tip from Peteri is setting up the camera to have corrected AF box ON . However his list of changes the he makes to the factory defaults have been fine for me.

I use the OVF for everything but macro. I have the 18mm and 35mm lens. Both are great - 35 is superb.

I've seem complaints that the framelines are too conservative. That they don't include the full field of view that the lens/camera actually renders to the file. I find this to be correct.

2. I set Image Review On for 1.5s to get a quick glimpse of the rendered file. This makes it very easy to learn what the included field of view is and confirm that I haven't done some boneheaded thing like have exp comp way off base. Almost never chimp or frame from the LCD and have that off.

3. Double pushing the macro button quickly toggles macro on - off: This from X100 users.

These tips and resources are congruent with my use of the Xpro-1.
The camera has such flexible functionality that it's likely that

other users will have a very different list of aspects they appreciate and a different approach to using this great tool.
