Thoughts on Street Post Production
Apr 22, 2012

I consider myself a street photographer, which is strange considering I can’t exactly classify my work as street photography. Perhaps I’m getting caught up on labelling myself as one thing or another, instead of just letting myself do. The issue I have is that when thinking about street photography objectively, I don’t believe post production is part of the equation. Street is known for being “straight” and “real”, but if an otherwise “straight” and “real” scene is touched up, should it be considered slanted and artificial?
I photograph people candidly (most of the time) on the street. And I do a fair amount of post production work. Maybe too much. What are your thoughts about post production and its place in street photography?
