Is the X Pro1 & X100 Mac friendly?

Seeing a few threads here that the Fuji cameras don't show up on the desktop when mounted by USB. I have a MacBook Pro 17" 2010 model. I don't have a card reader and there is no card slot on that Mac. I have also read by some that the SD card has to be reformatted after downloading to the Mac. I have been thinking of buying a X pro1, but if there are going to be these and other problems this might put me off.
Anybody with a Mac that could give their experience.
