I still can't figure out why Minolta decided to release lenses that had a focal length of 58mm (and I used to be a Minolta sales rep). It's such an odd focal length. I loved the look of the f/1.2. The diameter of the lens, along with the relatively short length, made it look like a monster's eye. A 50mm f/1.4 looks like a toy compared to the 58mm f/1.2.
