Re: Fred Miranda's Comparison

It is interesting to note that how different people would have different conclusions while reading the same review.
I have a Canon 5DII. After reading the review, I would either keep my 5DII or go buy a Nikon D800. The evidence Fred Miranda presented clearly showed that Canon did not make any progress in their sensor design. Sony/Nikon is years ahead in that regard. If I did not have some investiment in Canon lenses already or if I was starting from scratch, Nikon could easily have been my choice.
I see the review as very much in Nikon's favor. Fred did not show many Nikon images but every single one he showed was key. 1. No Morie, 2. Excellent D/R, 3. No banding. To say that he did not know how to focus on a Nikon is obviously wrong because he did say that Nikon showed clear advanatage in his large prints and cropped prints. If he did not focus properly, how could he have drawn such a conclusion?
It is difficult to deliver a negative message no matter how minor. To me, the Nikon LV issue is minor and if the Nikon T/S lens is not as good as Canon's, it is ok. Unless everything (100%) Nikon does is always perfect, there is absolutely no need for improvement, and everything from Canon (again 100%) is absolutey crap, there is no need to get so upset.
As a Canon user, I am disappointed in Canon's lack of progress in senor design. The AF improvements on the 5DIII are great but they could have done something similar years ago. (Their marketing strategy sucks). Am I going to switch? No, my photographic skills are still below the crappy Canon gears I have.
