Pentax Canada has not yet increased the prices in the Canadian stores, AFAIK.
You can see prices in many stores with photoprice .ca website.

I started with a K7 in 2010, and, now I have enough lenses to keep me busy shooting for many years.

Even with high prices on new equipment, one can buy a few well chosen AF lenses.
And buy several used manual lenses.
There are so many Pentax "legacy" lenses available!
They have much lower prices. And the quality of many of them is outstanding.
Look at the threads about "Takumar" lenses, for examples.

Also, I think it is convenient to have more than one brand.

MFT lenses are smaller (the tele especially) and relatively less expensive while being excellent (the Panasonic 100-300mm, with a crop factor of 2 gives 600mm reach).

They are not WR, but, then, I'm not a pro and will not pay 2000$ and more for a long lens that I rarely use. (One should rent Canikon lenses for rare use).

I chose Pentax for the comfort (ergonomy) of the camera (K7, K5), the WR (Summer is too short here), and the smaller size of the lenses (pancake).

To me, it seems that the price policy of Pentax USA is a so-so move.

They have to spin the story much better than that to make it acceptable to the customers !
