Lens price increases: What are you going to do?

Some of the ranting about the price increases feels to me like complaining that our Pentax "parent" is being "unfair." Pentax did what it did in the US market, and now we have to deal with it. For some, that may mean quitting the Pentax brand. For others, substituting third-party lenses, or delaying a purchase.

Taken together, the decisions we make will send Pentax the message more clearly than forum posts or boycotts.

All of us who own K-mount lenses and bodies have an interest in Pentax doing well over the long term. Frankly, I do not see how the new pricing will help achieve that, but it is too soon to tell. The new policy is a sign that Pentax is actively managing the brand, and that is encouraging.
