When I got my D700 several years ago I too decided on what looked to be a more affordable 190CXPRO4 tripod with a RRS ball head. The head was excellent but the tripod wasn't even close to supporting my longer lenses and upgraded to a Manfrotto 055CXPRO3 carbon fiber which is excellent. And, to be honest went for an even more expensive but not sure if it is any much better Gitzo tripod a year later. Cheers

I recently upgraded to a D700 and my old tripod isn't sturdy enough for it. I am looking for something that is small, light and does not break the bank. I am looking at the 190CXPRO4. Do any of you use it (or something similar) with a D700? What would be the biggest lens I could use it with? I cannot imagine ever needing anything larger than a 70-200. Any help is appreciated!
